Information Literacy

Information Literacy is a very important issue to BCCC Libraries. In this space we will attempt to provide the college community with important information, resources, and links.

Information Literacy is most easily defined by the ACRL* as, "the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information."*

ACRL

The Association of College and Research Libraries (a division of the American Library Association) maintains an Information Literacy Web site. This is a very useful resource for this topic.

TILT The University of Texas System Digital Library has produced an excellent interactive library tutorial, called "TILT." The librarians at Bucks feel you will benefit greatly from this resource. It can help you develop your information skills by illustrating how to differentiate between different types of resources, select resources and utilize resources.
