WHERE IS BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
Our Newtown Campus is located at 275 Swamp Road (zip 18940) in the heart of scenic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Our Upper County Campus is located
at 1 Hillendale Drive in Perkasie (18944). Our Lower County Campus is 1200 New Rodgers Road (Veterans Highway),
Bristol (19007).
HOW DO I GET TO BUCKS?
To the NEWTOWN campus:
From Lower Bucks: Route 413 North through Langhorne Boro to the Newtown/Route 413 Bypass (traffic light after George School). Left onto Bypass and follow signs
to College (approximately 3 miles on left).
From I-95: ( I-95 North from Philadelphia/ I-95 South from New Jersey)
Take I-95 to Exit 49 - Newtown - Route 332. Proceed West towards Newtown and follow this road straight to the College entrance, approximately
5 miles on left. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: PA Turnpike to Exit 28- Philadelphia. Proceed to Route 1 North to Route 413 North and follow
directions from Lower Bucks.
From Upper Bucks (Doylestown and Quakertown):
Route 313 South to Route 263 North (Buckingham). Follow Route 263 North for 2.5 miles (Buckingham) to Route 413 South. Turn right and proceed
for approximately 9 miles. At a "T" Intersection of Durham Road (Route 532), turn right and proceed to the next traffic light. Right onto Swam
p Road. The College is 1/2 mile on the left.
From Upper Bucks (Riegelsville, Bethlehem, Easton):
Take Route 611 South (towards Doylestown) to Route 413 South. At a "T" Intersection of Durham Road (Route 532), turn right and proceed to the
next traffic light. Right onto Swamp Road. The College is 1/2 mile on the left.
From Warminster, Warrington Area:
East on Street Road (Route 132) to Second Street Pike (Route 232). Left and go North on Second Street Pike to Route 332 East (Richboro/Newtown
Road.) Turn right and proceed approximately 3 1/2 miles to Newtown/Route 413 Bypass. Left onto Bypass and at the next light continue straight
ahead to Swamp Road. The College is approximately 1/2 mile on the left.
Septa's 130 Bus Route runs through Lower Bucks County to the College's Newtown campus six days a week, Monday through Saturday.

To the UPPER COUNTY campus:
From Dublin/Doylestown
Follow Swamp Road (Route 313) west from Doylestown, through Dublin, past the Route 113 intersection, to the traffic light at the intersection
with Fifth Street. Turn left on Fifth Street and proceed to the first traffic light at Blooming Glen Road (approx. 1.7 mi.) Glenwood Shopping
Center will be on your left. Go beyond the light to the next marked left turn onto Hillendale Drive. Proceed past the shopping center entry, a
nd turn left again at the campus entry road.
From Quakertown/Milford:
Follow Route 309 South through Quakertown exiting right onto Bethlehem Road at the Sellersville exit. Continue on Bethlehem Road until Route 5
63. Turn left. Proceed through Perkasie (approx. 1.6 mi) to the intersection with Blooming Glen Road. Turn right on Blooming Glen and proceed
to the traffic light/intersection with Fifth Street. Turn right and make the next left onto Hillendale Drive.
From Riegelsville, Durham, Springfield, Richlandtown
Take Route 212 to Quakertown and the intersection with Route 313. Turn left and follow Route 313, past Route 563, until the traffic light inte
rsection at Fifth Street. Turn right and follow Dublin directions above.
To the LOWER COUNTY campus:
From I-95: (North from Phila. or South from N.J.) Take I-95 to Exit 40 (formerly Exit 26) - Bristol. Turn right at exit. Make first left at the light at Rockview Drive.

DO I NEED A PARKING PERMIT?
Students at our Newtown campus must obtain a parking permit after they have registered for classes. Parking permits can be obtained at the
Security and Safety Office in Cottage 4. Bring your student ID card and vehicle registration form when you come to apply. Parking permits are
free.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
Students at our Newtown campus can park in the student section of lot A, and in lots B, C, D and E.

WHAT'S THE HISTORY OF BUCKS?
Bucks County Community College was founded in 1964 in response to a need for a public two-year collegiate institution to serve graduates of
the County's high schools and other citizens of Bucks County who would benefit from an experience in higher education.
The initial proposal for a Community College was developed and presented to the public in 1963 by the then Office of Bucks County Superintende
nt of Schools. Subsequently, the Bucks County School Directors Association, urged the Bucks County Board of Commissioners in 1964 to become th
e sponsor for the proposed school under the provisions of Act 848 (the Community College Act).
The Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed to sponsor the college in a legal resolution adopted June 22, 1964. The Pennsylvania State Board
of Education approved the proposal in September and a 15-member Bucks County Community College Board of Trusties was appointed October 5,1964
, by the County Commissioners.
The site for the College was determined three months later, when Bucks County acquired, from Temple University, 200 acres of the former Tyler
Estate in Newtown Township. The Estate had been bequeathed to the University two years earlier by Mrs. Stella Elkins Tyler, a sculptress and p
atron of the arts who was a trustee of Temple University for 20 years.
Most graduates of the College's transfer programs have attended Pennsylvania's four-year colleges or other State-related institutions. Other g
raduates of the College have gone on to pursue their studies at more than 300 other four-year institutions in forty-five states as well as the
District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Germany, France, Great Britain, and Sweden.
