Guide to Writing a Thank You Letter
Dear Scholarship Recipient!
On behalf of the Foundation and the College, thank you for taking the time to personally thank the donor* that made possible the scholarship(s) you’ve been awarded.
Below are some suggestions/ideas for a thank you letter.
- Paragraph 1
- Start out by thanking them and introducing yourself.
- Take this opportunity to remind them which program you’re in, and when you’re scheduled to graduate.
- You can also describe how you felt when you found out you were selected to receive this scholarship!
- Paragraph 2
- Describe your background by addressing the following ideas: What brought you to Bucks? What things/events happened in your or individuals influenced your decision to come to Bucks? How does being able to pursue your education impact your plans for the future?
- Paragraph 3
- Close the letter by thanking the donor again and sharing with them how their gift has impacted your attitude, going forward.
Remember, speak from your heart. There’s no better way to express your gratitude to the Donor than by sharing with them YOUR STORY.
Best wishes and congratulations on this remarkable achievement!
