Campus Evacuation Routes
Security and Safety will announce evacuation of all or part of the campus grounds by various methods, including notification by a Security and Safety Officer or an emergency notification sent by the College. The Omnilert (formerly e2campus) system will be the primary notification method and will include text messages, emails, social media posts and desktop alerts.
Planning helps a great deal in an actual emergency. It is essential that employees familiarize themselves with the suggested evacuation route for their areas.
In a partial campus evacuation, all faculty, staff, and students are to immediately vacate the area and relocate to another part of the campus grounds as directed.
If the entire campus is being evacuated, all faculty, staff, and students will vacate the campus as soon as possible in an orderly manner. This should be done by utilizing the routes listed below:
- Newtown Campus:
- If driving, exit via the East or West Gates onto Swamp Road
- Alternately, exit via the evacuation road to Tyler State Park. This is located in the rear area of Parking Lot E-4, near the Archery Field.
- Epstein Campus:
- If driving, exit via the driveway to Veterans Highway (Route 413).
- Otherwise, move to the office center located to the south of campus.
- Upper Bucks Campus:
- If driving, exit to either Hillendale Road or Blooming Glen Road
- Otherwise, move to the adjacent shopping center or to Moods Bridge Park (behind the campus).
Security & Safety will notify the Bucks County Emergency Communications Center if a campus-wide evacuation is declared.
While evacuating campus, employees and students should be alert for emergency responders such as police, fire, and ambulances approaching campus.
