What should I do if I know a student who may need to be referred to the Bucks Care team?
Should I talk to the student about referring them to the Bucks Care team?
You should talk to the student only if you feel comfortable. If you do not feel comfortable speaking with the student, please contact the Care Team for assistance at BucksCares@bucks.edu. You can also contact Security and Safety at 215-968-8911 if there is an emergency.
Who can make a referral?
Anyone who feels that a student is in need of help or assistance can make a referral.
What happens after I make the referral? What happens to the student in the “Care” process?
The student you refer will be given the support and assistance they need by College and community resources.
How do I know if it is a CARE issue or if it is more appropriately handled by other campus resources?
If you see physical, emotional, or academic signs that can threaten the safety or the wellbeing of the college community, the behavior is considered a referral. If you are unsure whether a behavior should be referred, please contact the Bucks Care Team at BucksCares@bucks.edu, to discuss the circumstances.
