Bucks County Community College strives to ensure that students are successful while pursuing their education. Sometimes a student may display behaviors or may disclose information that is preventing them from being academically successful. From excessive absences, not turning in assignments or a sudden change in behavior, these students may be appropriate for early alert. Learn more about the Care Team below.
Bucks Care Team: Building a Culture that CARES
What We Do?
The Bucks Care Team consists of the Behavioral Intervention Team, the Academic Intervention Team and the Food Insecurity Initiative. It is comprised of administrators, faculty and staff from Academic & Student Affairs, Enrollment Services, Student Life, and Security and Safety. The purposes of the Care Team are to:
- To assess and respond proactively to incidents of student behavior that pose a threat to the safety of the student and/or the campus community;
- To assess and respond appropriately to students who are struggling academically;
- To provide training and resources to assist the college community in identifying such behaviors;
- To work with faculty to provide sustainable in-class support and/or resources.
** Please Note: While the Bucks Care Team is a central point of contact for determining intervention, it is important to remember that the Office of Safety and Security is always the first line of contact in a crisis or emergency situations.
