3.6 Faculty-Initiated Withdrawal
I. Purpose
Establish parameters for faculty-initiated student withdrawal of students from classes.
II. Scope
Applicable to all students enrolled in credit courses.
III. General
A faculty member may withdraw a student from a course during the designated period each semester. These periods are noted in the college online catalog and other college publications. The only reason for a faculty-initiated withdrawal is a student’s lack of attendance in the class.
A student may appeal the withdrawal to the Committee on Academic Performance if the student feels the faculty-initiated withdrawal is unjustified.
