3.17 Alternative Proctor Request Deadline
I. Purpose
Establish dates by which students in online classes must propose an alternative proctor.
II. Scope
Applicable to all students enrolled in online classes where proctored testing is required.
III. General
A student may propose an alternative proctor until the deadline listed on the Academic Calendar by using the form on the Bucks website. Proposed proctors/proctoring sites will be vetted in accordance with guidelines approved 6/29/2017. The deadline will coincide with the Last day of the 50% Refund period.
Communication of Deadline to Students
The following will be used to communicate the request deadline to students.
- Within Concourse, there will be a blanket statement referencing a link to the deadline using standardized language alerting all students to the policy and deadline.
- The deadline date will also be added to the official academic calendar.
Proposal After Deadline
Should a student propose an alternative proctor after the deadline, the following will apply.
- If the request is based on illness, injury or involuntary change in employment hours or student location, there must be a written statement from a physician, employer, or school explaining why the student needs to propose a proctor after the deadline. The statement must be on letterhead and must be specific as to the dates involved.
- If the request is based on a death of an immediate family member (spouse, parent, son, daughter, sister, or other relative residing in the same household), proof of the death must be submitted.
- If the request is based on deployment or reassignment for active military service, documentation of deployment or reassignment must be provided.
- If the request is based on any other reason, there must be evidence that can be checked attached to the petition.
