Veterans Benefits Information
If you are a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and a Bucks student applying for educational benefits, please review the following:
- Apply to the Veterans Administration for approval to receive benefits.
- After registering for your Bucks classes, please present the documents below, identified by each benefit, to the Registrar's Office, found in the Linksz Pavilion, lower level.
- Your School Certifying Officials (SCOs) are: Lizanne Watts (215.968.8490) for the undergraduate (credit) programs, and Elena Lydon (215.968.8411) for non-credit/continuing education courses.
If uncertain which benefit is appropriate for you, please consult with the Veterans Administration. Likewise, Bucks Certifying Officials inform the VA of a veterans' course registration, but only the State Approving Agency is authorized to approve programs for benefits.

Military Courses and Priority Registration
Military courses may be evaluated for potential credit through Prior Learning Assessment. Military transcripts can be obtained through the Joint Services Transcript service.
In support of those who have served our country, Bucks County Community College grants priority registration to our student veterans. All student veterans who have no outstanding financial obligation to the college will be allowed to register on a designated day(s) prior to the first day of Priority Registration for the general student population. This benefit is automatic to all active and former military personnel using educational benefits, but is also open to those who are not by completing the Veteran Identification Form for Priority Registration.
VETERANS BENEFITS AND TRANSITION ACT OF 2018
Beginning on August 1, 2019, educational institutions must have a policy in place allowing GIBill® and VR&E beneficiaries (Chapter 33 and Chapter 31 beneficiaries) to attend a course of education or training for up to 90 days from the date the beneficiary provides a certificate of eligibility, or valid VAF 28-1905. This allows a student to attend the course until VA provides payment to the institution. The educational institution must also have a policy to not impose a penalty, or require the beneficiary to borrow additional funds to cover tuition and fees due to late payments from VA. Section 103 requires a State Approving Agency (SAA), or the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) when acting in the role of the SAA, to disapprove certain courses of education. VA can grant a waiver to these requirements.
VETERANS CHOICE ACT SECTION 702 & 301
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Section 702 of the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014 ("Choice Act"), requires VA to disapprove programs of education for payment of benefits under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® or Montgomery GI Bill®-Active Duty at public institutions of higher learning (IHLs) if the school charges qualifying Veterans and dependents tuition and fees in excess of the rate for resident students for terms beginning after July 1, 2015.
Section 301 modified the "Choice Act" to include Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E) for "covered individuals" beginning after March 31, 2019.
