Camp Cancellation Information
- Please make sure you register early to help avoid camp cancellations.
- The week before a camp is scheduled to run, we look at the enrollment numbers and will make a final decision if a camp has enough registrations to run. If we need to cancel a camp due to low enrollment, our Registration Office will notify you. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
- If we need to cancel a camp for any reason, we will make every attempt to place your camper in another camp. Otherwise, we will give you a full refund for the camp that we cancelled.
- If you decide to move your camper to another camp and that camp has a higher price point than the camp we cancelled, you will need to pay the difference. This is due to the camp supplies fees that are included in the price of the camp.
- If you decide to move your camper to another camp and that camp has a lower price point than the camp we cancelled, we will refund you the difference.

*For each day of camp, campers will experience some instruction and examples before going off to work independently or in a group. This camp is designed to give campers as much lab time as possible to work on their creations.
In this dynamic week of camp, campers will create their own stop motion films from scratch, using Lego bricks! The instructor will be there every step of the way, helping you create your very own stop motion video! You will learn the animation process; create a workspace, develop a story, build a set, and shoot a stop motion animation using a smartphone/iPad, the app, Stop Motion Studio Pro! and Lego mini-figs.
Campers will need to bring their own Legos. Campers will be responsible for their own Lego sets and will not be sharing them with other campers in this camp.

The campers will take water and shade breaks throughout the day. Campers will be fishing in the rain; however, if there is a severe storm, the camp will be inside.
Fishing is a quintessential summer activity, and we’ll show you everything you need to know to get started in the hobby or take your fishing to the next level! Our activities will be based in Tyler State Park, which offers an exciting variety of fish species to target and several excellent locations to do so. Throughout the week, we’ll also develop various important skills that all fishermen can benefit from, including rod and gear maintenance, choosing the right tackle for your target fish, fishing safety and etiquette, and more! All skill levels are welcome, and while we encourage campers to bring their own gear if they have it, gear/tackle will be provided if necessary. We will be outside for the majority of each day, so good outdoor shoes, clothing, and water bottles are highly recommended. Bring rain gear if conditions merit it.

This camp uses recyclable materials, nature and various art supplies to create one-of-a-kind work! We learn various processes, techniques of mark making, and color theory. We will create 2D and 3D art while learning how to be sustainable with materials and creating with what is around us!
Intro to Film and TV Camp RCHYC 6166 C01
*Campers work in teams and learn both in front and behind the camera learning various roles for show-creation. Green screens are used behind them to allow the projecting of cool graphics onto the background. For this reason, campers are urged not to wear green attire.
Your camper will work as cast and crew teams in this innovative cool camp. Campers are taught the basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create projects such as commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence.
Materials Campers need to bring each day to camp: A notebook, pen, and pencil.
After camp, all footage is sent to a professional editor. A digital film will be emailed to you. Allow up to 3 months editing.

Flag Football Camp will focus on building basic football fundamentals in a positive environment. Led by an instructor with 26 years coaching experience on the college level, we will teach the fast-paced game of flag football in a fun and safe way. *This camp is structured like a class at school. Campers will research, work in groups, and complete readings in preparation for the Mock Trial at the end of the week. Recommended for participants who are interested in law.
Campers learn about the court system. They are taught trail skills such as opening statements, closing argument, direct and cross examination of witnesses, and how to get things into evidence. During the week, they role play as attorneys and as witnesses and the week culminates in a Mock Trial for a Jury of their families.
Robotics and Rocketry RCHYC 5428 C01
Step into the robotic and rocketry world while building a basic robot and beginner rockets. This camp will be filled with discussion of past, present, and future robotics and rocketry. Science fiction is discussed to show that without it, the advances in technology would be difficult. With this hands-on course, the history and future of robotics and rocketry is at your fingertips.

*Campers will be exploring the amenities of the college for inspiration, so please be sure they wear good walking shoes and bring plenty of water each day.
Design your own high-end hotel! Will you have a waterpark, spa, or obstacle course? Throughout the week campers will work to design their own high-end hotels. They will develop business plans, sketches, marketing materials, and create models.

Learn about the staggering diversity of species found right in your own backyard through hands on activities, real scientific methods, and lots of outdoor exploration! Creating Digital Music RCHYC 5037 C01
This course will help students understand how music can be created digitally with the use of audio loops and MIDI. GarageBand software will be used to compose musical works. Please bring headphones with 1/8’’ and 1/4’’ adapters.
Become a Chess Knight Intermediate RCHYC 6278 C01
This camp focuses on key strategic, tactical, and positional principles of the game. Campers practice 3 and 4 move checkmating patterns, learn thematic concepts and theory of chess openings, and learn how to evaluate the game of chess through motifs such as material, king safety, and piece activity. Campers are also introduced to basic endgame principles and the relationship of opening theory to middlegame play. Famous instructional games are shown to illustrate key tactical and positional concepts and students also learn how to improve through analysis incorporating chess engines. Campers are shown random positions and taught how to evaluate them based on common chess principles and improve their tactical vision through puzzles.

Making comics! Musical Theatre 3 Week Camp 7/7-25/2025 for Ages 11-14 RCHYC 5049 C01

**Auditions are held on the first day of camp. If your camper misses the first day of camp, then your camper will be assigned a remaining part for the play.

A more advanced Musical Theatre Camp for campers that have a desire to perform onstage. Campers will learn to sing, act, and dance. A full-length Junior/Youth Musical will be performed. * This is a 2-week camp - July 7-18, 2025
Have you ever wanted to be able to create your own action figures from your favorite tv show or movie, or create an articulating model of a cute baby octopus? This introduction to 3D printing course teaches campers how to create their very own 3D plastic models. Campers will learn the basic principles of 3D modeling using the open-source online software Tinkercad. This course will introduce campers to introductory engineering design skills and provide hands on experience with one of the latest technologies in the STEM field. Campers will get to design their own model, print the model, and take it home with them by the end of the course. 3D printing is not only a fun experience, but it is also educational!

Roblox Makers
Unlock the power of Roblox Studio, the world creation tool used by real-world Roblox developers. Learn how to build 3D models and create an adventure in your Roblox world. Bring characters to life with unique animations you design. Camper created projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Campers will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
Python Programmers
Want to learn the world’s fastest growing programming language favored by Google and NASA? Discover how to code with Python using accessible web-based platforms that guide students through a series of daily lessons. Build fundamental tech literacy while creatively solving software engineering challenges. Campers will work in pairs or teams for most of the program, and their work can be saved on a password protected website to share with friends and family.
Pickleball Camp RCHYC 6241 C02
Participants will be provided opportunities to exercise hand-eye coordination while learning to use proper grip of the paddle, footwork, swing coordination hitting the ball and stroke coordination hitting a serve, ground stroke and volley. Game scoring and team cooperation will be introduced and will support different levels of ability. The focus of this camp is on cooperation and fun. It is recommended that campers bring extra water.

Calling all swifties! Join us for a week as we learn about the different eras of Taylor Swift. Each day we will be exploring an era and participating in themed activities, along with creating a variety of crafts related to that era. We will also be talking about other influential women in music throughout the week. Wear green or yellow on the first day of camp for debut and fearless.

This camp is perfect for the aspiring young ‘actors’ in your household. It is here they will learn real auditioning skills by working with scripts for commercials and film readings. Your camper will learn how to personalize characters and follow directions, block for camera, and read with their ‘co-stars’. Voiceover will also be introduced. Improvisation and ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught as a basis of making acting choices and trusting their instincts. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence. Included in this camp is a take-home tutorial showing you ways to find acting jobs as well as a list of legitimate talent agencies.

The Great Debaters RCHYC 6016 C01
* This camp is structured like a class at school. Campers will research, work in groups, and complete readings in preparation for the debate at the end of the week. Recommended for participants who are seriously interested in learning the proper skills and etiquette for debating.
Campers learn different types of debate forms (Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, etc.) as well as how to research, validate and present their positions in order to be successful in the debate process. Over the course of the week, they will be taught and will practice persuasive speaking skills, as they learn the different techniques of debate. On the last day of camp, the campers debate their topics in front of an audience.

This camp is designed to expand on basic skills related to the fiber arts. Campers will spend the week experiencing activities that include weaving, cross-stitch, and basic sewing skills both by hand and on a sewing machine. Campers will use this skill set in each area to produce treasured crafts to take home, such as wall hangings, tote bags, keychains, aprons, and a sewn stuffie. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Campers who are enrolled in the After Care program will be taken to After Care at the end of the regular camp day. The After Care Program is located in the Solarium Room in the Rollins building on campus. Parents/Guardians must show Photo I.D. when picking up their camper.

Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class. Camper projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Campers will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
Young Coders
Develop our skills as a young coder exploring block coding, JavaScript, and Python concepts while making your own playable mini-games. This introductory coding course is designed to get elementary-aged campers excited about technology through a series of hands-on and engaging learning challenges. Camper created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Campers will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Flag Football Camp will focus on building basic football fundamentals in a positive environment. Led by an instructor with 26 years coaching experience on the college level, we will teach the fast-paced game of flag football in a fun and safe way. This camp is a great opportunity to try all positions, learn football strategy, develop skills, and gain confidence. We will conduct every drill and competition with an emphasis on being a great teammate! All skill levels are welcome and encouraged! No Cleats required.

This course will help students understand how music can be created digitally with the use of audio loops and MIDI. GarageBand software will be used to compose musical works. Please bring headphones with 1/8’’ and 1/4’’ adapters.
Lego Animation RCHYC 5031 C05
*For each day of camp, campers will experience some instruction and examples before going off to work independently or in a group. This camp is designed to give campers as much lab time as possible to work on their creations.
In this dynamic week of camp, campers will create their own stop motion films from scratch, using Lego bricks! The instructor will be there every step of the way, helping you create your very own stop motion video! You will learn the animation process; create a workspace, develop a story, build a set, and shoot a stop motion animation using a smartphone/iPad, the app, Stop Motion Studio Pro! and Lego mini-figs.
Campers will need to bring their own Legos. Campers will be responsible for their own Lego sets and will not be sharing them with other campers in this camp.
Intermediate 3D Printing Camp 2-Week Camp July 21-August 1, 2025 RCHYC 6253 C01

Have you ever wanted to create a secret box that looks like something else or an articulated model of your pet? This course is a continuation of Introduction to 3D Printing and Modeling, though taking both is not required. Campers will learn basic and intermediate principles of 3D modeling using the open-source online software Tinkercad. This course will help campers enhance their engineering design skills and learn about the prototyping process as they design an articulated or multi-part 3D model that they will print, assemble, and get to take home with them by the end of the course. 3D printing something functional is not only exciting and rewarding, but helps students learn about one of the latest technologies in the STEM field!

*Prerequisite: Campers need to have taken Mock Trial 1 before taking Mock Trial 2
**This camp is structured like a class at school. Campers will research, work in groups, and complete readings in preparation for the Mock Trial at the end of the week. Recommended for participants who are interested in law.
Campers will use the basic trial skills that they learned in Mock Trial 1 and add to them, by learning how to qualify an expert and how to introduce archival documents into evidence. They will research the historical topic selected for the trial and will write witness statements for each witness as well as an “expert” historian. On the last day of camp, they will present the trial to a jury.

Our activities will be based in Tyler State Park, which offers an exciting variety of fish species to target and several excellent locations to do so. Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in Roblox. This camp combines game design concepts and coding. New developers will learn to use Roblox’s studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with your own custom code. Bring your animations to life with design tools used by real game developers. Create sophisticated sprite animations using simple to form techniques that you can use in any 2D editor. Squash, stretch, and shade your creations to make your characters pop. Campers do not need any prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching. The Decathlon Camp is designed to provide fundamental instruction and activity of Track and Field in the areas of Bio motor skills, running, hurdling, jumping, and throwing of implements. Each participant will be provided safe and accurate directions in trying to successfully accomplish these skills. It is recommended that campers bring extra water.
Intro to Film and TV Camp RCHYC 6166 C03
*Campers work in teams and learn both in front and behind the camera learning various roles for show-creation. Green screens are used behind them to allow the projecting of cool graphics onto the background. For this reason, campers are urged not to wear green attire.
Your camper will work as cast and crew teams in this innovative cool camp. Campers are taught the basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create projects such as commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence.
Materials Campers need to bring each day to camp: A notebook, pen, and pencil.
After camp, all footage is sent to a professional editor. A digital film will be emailed to you. Allow up to 3 months editing.

This camp focuses on key strategic, tactical, and positional principles of the game. Campers practice 3 and 4 move checkmating patterns, learn thematic concepts and theory of chess openings, and learn how to evaluate the game of chess through motifs such as material, king safety, and piece activity. Campers are also introduced to basic endgame principles and the relationship of opening theory to middlegame play. Famous instructional games are shown to illustrate key tactical and positional concepts and students also learn how to improve through analysis incorporating chess engines. Campers are shown random positions and taught how to evaluate them based on common chess principles and improve their tactical vision through puzzles.
