Glassblowing

Glassblowing Flower Workshop

In a lively glassblowing workshop, participants gather to create stunning glass flowers, guided by an experienced instructor. As molten glass is skillfully shaped into vibrant petals and delicate stems, the atmosphere buzzes with excitement and creativity. Each unique piece captures the beauty of the craft, resulting in colorful blooms that reflect the artistry of their makers.

Materials will be provided. No prior experience is necessary!

Printmaking

Monotype Workshop

This one-day workshop will offer you the opportunity to create a series of one-of-a-kind monotype prints. Monotype is a painterly approach to printmaking that allows you to create images spontaneously using layers of ink printed onto paper. Both abstract and representational approaches will be addressed through line, shape and texture and mark-making. You will learn both additive and subtractive techniques, as well as the use of stencils, masks, and trace monotypes. No prior experience required. Cost includes $20 material fee.

Jelli Plate Workshop

Create colorful, multi-layered prints using gelatin as the printing plate and non-toxic acrylic paints. There is no need for a printing press and all paint washes off with soap and water. Using stamps, stencils, paint brushes and relief objects, the gelatin plate allows you to explore various surface textures and build up layers of color. This process is fast yet also forgiving and allows for spontaneous or methodical printmaking. The materials are inexpensive, and no harsh chemicals are used. No prior experience required.

Woodworking

Woodturning Workshop

The purpose of this class series is to introduce community members to the fundamentals of woodturning and to acquaint them with the woodshop space. This series will cover safety, the proper use of the lathe and woodturning tools and techniques. It will be a balance of lecture and hands on time to explore the techniques learned. The goal is to advance the student’s knowledge in woodturning to be confident to use the lathe and its tools safely and advance in their woodworking journey.
