James Deiner has over 25 years of experience successfully managing projects in the pharmaceutical, logistics, and financial services industries. He has led large-scale projects in information technology and pharmaceutical research and development. As director of the IT function for several companies, he planned and aligned the IT portfolio and organization with the overall business strategy. In addition, Jim has served as a volunteer with the Project Management Institute, participating in and leading the Pharmaceutical Community of Practice.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and has a Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and he earned a certificate in Advanced Project Management from Stanford University.

This course will assist you in augmenting the skills necessary to remain competitive in the project management field and provides an in-depth review of project management principles aligning with the Project Management Institute’s A Guide to the Project Management Book of Knowledge - Seventh Edition (PMBOK®).
When you complete this course, you will have a good foundation in the many aspects of the project management life cycle. This certification recognizes your project management knowledge, skills and abilities and demonstrate your project management expertise and professional experience.
This course is designed for managers new to, or just starting in, the project management area, business unit managers, sales force, and marketing & business analysts.
Students will have an opportunity to practice their understanding of the course concepts utilizing Microsoft Project software, which will be available in class. MS Project is widely used in the project management world and should be a useful addition to student's skill set.
