Customized English Language Training courses to meet the ever-changing needs of today's workforce
Our English Language Training program provides adult, non-native speakers of English the opportunity to improve their English language skills in order to advance in the workplace or to communicate effectively as a member of the community.

Areas of Focus:
English for Industry: Manufacturing
This course focuses on all aspects of the manufacturing and packaging processes. Enrollees will learn important English vocabulary and phrases necessary to complete required documentation, communicate safety concerns and equipment maintenance issues. In addition, employees will learn key vocabulary related to FDA and OSHA regulations. Enrollees will learn important terminology related to industry and company-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
English for Industry: Health Sciences
This course is designed for companies that employ individuals in the medical field, including nurses, medical assistants, nursing assistants, medical laboratory technicians, dental assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and surgical technologists. This course provides a basic overview of anatomy and physiology in English. Additionally, enrollees develop an understanding of medical terminology to address occupational requirements, such as obtaining patient histories, completing patient documentation, ordering routine tests and scheduling follow-up procedures. Those enrolled in the course will learn English phrases and terminology used to give post-operative/discharge instructions and to explain test results.
English for Industry: Pharmaceutical Science
This course is designed for individuals in research and development, quality assurance specialists (QA), or Quality Control (QC) analysts. Individuals in this course will learn important vocabulary and grammatical structures that are required for the development and amendment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Enrollees will learn chemical and technical terminology related to the field of pharmaceutical science. In addition, they will learn key English vocabulary and phrases required to complete FDA-compliant documentation and to answer questions during an FDA audit.
English for Industry: Information Technology
This course is designed for individuals in the Information Technology field, including computer programmers, technical support personnel, web designers, and IT security personnel. Individuals in this course will develop a knowledge of important computer hardware & software terminology. Enrollees will develop an understanding of key English phrases related to common IT policies and procedures in the workplace. In addition, enrollees will be introduced to common English phrases used in customer service and IT troubleshooting.
English for Industry: Banking & Finance
This course is designed to help non-native speakers communicate effectively with customers and clients. Enrollees will learn important terminology within the realm of finance and economics. Individuals in this course will also learn phrases and vocabulary related to banking, FDIC regulations, and transaction documentation.
English for Industry: Hotel, Restaurant & Service Industry
This course is designed for all individuals in the hospitality field, including wait staff, cooks, custodial staff, supervisors, and housekeeping. Individuals in this course will learn how to take reservations and orders. Enrollees will learn important language skills related to how planning menu options and mixing ingredients according to a recipe. Enrollees will learn effective language skills and vocabulary that relate to communicating and understanding the procedures for cleaning work areas or facilities. They will learn how to communicate effectively with service staff. Additionally, individuals in this course will learn the English vocabulary necessary to complete required documentation and to follow regulations for food preparation.
English for Industry: Construction
This course is designed for individuals in the construction industry, including construction laborers, forepersons, project managers, and supervisors. Individuals in this course will learn key vocabulary related to the development and presentation of estimates and final job costs. Enrollees will learn important phrases regarding project design and management. In addition, they will learn how to communicate concerns regarding safety and how to complete required documentation.
Specific Skills Courses:
Pronunciation & Accent Reduction
This class is designed to identify specific target sounds that need improvement. During this course, the enrollees will explore English phonemes and minimal pairs to develop a better understanding of American English pronunciation. Participants will learn to speak at an appropriate rate to enhance comprehension.
English for Effective Business Writing
Individuals in this course will learn to use correct grammar and language in professional emails. Enrollees will learn important business phrases used in documents and emails. In addition, employees will learn to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on a template. They will learn to complete FDA-mandated documentation using correct grammar and appropriate phraseology. Employees will learn strategies for taking notes in English, strategies that can be applied during meetings and trainings.
Corporate & Professional Communication
This course is designed so that employees will be able to communicate effectively in the workplace. Enrollees will learn phrases to communicate the status of a project with colleagues or to ask for clarification during a meeting. Employees will learn proper phone and meeting etiquette and industry-specific phrases and idioms.
