No entrance exams are required. Course times are scheduled year-round to be compatible with your work commitments. Each course meets online for ten weeks. Discussions using an online bulletin board afford the opportunity to examine everyday construction challenges shared by others in the construction industry. All certificates should be completed within two years of starting the program.
Construction Estimating
This courseware provides an excellent overview of basic and advanced principles of construction estimating and bidding in the construction industry.

It is also for anyone aspiring to become any of the above. This certificate program is available to students all over the world with Internet access.

Introduction to Construction - Start Anytime Self-Paced ETMCO 1510 C30
This self-paced four module Introduction to Construction seminar is an introduction to the construction industry, its parties, and processes. Students will become familiar with the different types of construction, the diverse roles, stages, and processes of a construction project. Students will develop an awareness of safety regulations, safety inspection, construction documents and their uses.
Students will develop a working understanding of construction project management topics including estimating, project management, scheduling, close out and pay out.
Introduction to Concrete - Start Anytime ETMCO 1511 C30
This self-paced four module Introduction to Concrete seminar is an introduction to both Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) and Asphaltic Concrete. PCC, hereinafter called concrete, is arguably the world’s most used construction material. Students will become familiar with the materials and properties of each along the manipulators used including formwork, additives, and reinforcement. Students will develop an awareness of installation techniques for horizontal and vertical concrete, uses for tilt-up and precast concrete. Students will develop a working understanding of weather’s impact on concrete and the uses of asphaltic concrete. This seminar provides both an introduction to concrete and an opportunity to deepen your industry knowledge of a material used all over the world in diverse conditions.

Introduction to Construction Estimating is a self-paced class which is the gateway to more complex and trade specific estimating courses. This online class is designed to help estimators polish their estimating skills and learn the basic skills that are absolutely required to produce successful construction estimates.

Essential Construction Math - Start Anytime ETMCO 1501 C30
This construction math self-paced class is intended to develop mathematical skills that can be applied to the construction trade through practice and application. This course is an introduction to other courses in construction. While this class is not a prerequisite for any other classes, it does provide a foundation for them.

Construction Blueprint Reading ETMCO 1502 C30
This construction blueprint reading class covers a foundation skill in construction. All construction professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints. Blueprint reading is not terribly difficult but it does require practice and some basic knowledge of blueprints.
This online blueprint reading course is designed to provide you with that foundation knowledge and enough practice at reading blueprints to get you started. Mastery of blueprint reading will come with practice and with using blueprints on the job on a regular basis.

This Estimating and Bidding 2 online course features hands-on estimating and quantity take off activities associated with Metals, Wood, Doors and Windows, Finishes, Electrical, and Mechanical Estimating. We will also focus on the preparation of work-place ready estimating documents.

Construction Materials and Processes ETMCO 1505 C30
This construction materials and processes online course will give the student an overall understanding of materials and methods. Each week we will study one specific material category, one specific construction process, and an overall construction system. The student will have the opportunity to expand the studies to include materials and processes which are normally encountered by the student in his/her work place.
In addition the student is expected to research and report on the session materials and processes with respect to sustainable or “green” construction.

Construction Equipment and Methods ETMCO 1506 C30
This course, Construction Equipment and Methods, introduces the student to construction equipment and selected heavy civil construction methods. This includes economy, selection, and productivity of common construction equipment and construction procedures for heavy civil construction and site development. The course will cover an introduction to equipment economics and utilization, determining earthwork quantities, equipment production rates, fundamentals of earth moving and excavating, loading and hauling equipment, cranes, compressors, pumps and much more..

Practical Application of Heavy Civil Sitework ETMCO 1507 C30
This course focuses on understanding civil construction techniques. This includes site preparation and grading, excavation, backfill, compaction, trenching, paving, and dewatering. Discussions on the proper methods of determining earthwork quantities, estimating civil construction costs and safety implications will take place throughout the course.
