- This course prepares students to apply concepts of pharmacology and airway techniques to the assessment and management of patients. Students perform respiratory assessments to differentiate the pathophysiology of respiratory emergencies.

Students will:
- Describe the characteristics of drugs as related to various body systems;
- Explain the responsibilities of the paramedic with respect to administering medications;
- Describe unintended adverse effects of drug administration;
- Explain the pathophysiology of respiratory disorders commonly seen in the prehospital environment; and
- Demonstrate techniques of basic and advanced airway management.
