- A study of labor-management relations in the United States, with an emphasis on current collective bargaining issues and procedures. The interaction of labor and management organizations will be analyzed within the context of the legal, economic, and structural environments in which they operate.

Course Learning Goals
- analyze the roles and attitudes of management, labor, and government as they interact in the industrial relations system;
- identify and explain the terms, concepts, and principles common to the discipline of labor relations;
- identify and explain the major statutes and court decisions relevant to labor relations;
- analyze the structure, process, and content of collective bargaining as conducted in the United States;
- describe the basic processes involved in grievance handling, arbitration, and negotiations; and
- apply concepts and insights acquired in this course to an analysis and evaluation of labor relations problems.
