- In this continuation of study from CHNS201, students further develop language proficiency with increasing complexity. Vocabulary and expressions are extended to enhance communication skills. Grammar is sequenced to build a solid foundation in language form and accuracy. Students continue to gain historical and culture awareness of Chinese-speaking countries.

Assessment Methods for Course Learning Goals
Students will:
- take quizzes and tests;
- complete written assignments, such as short compositions and grammatical exercises;
- perform listening comprehension exercises; and
- participate in speaking tasks, which may include oral interviews, conversations, and/or presentations that assess proficiency levels.
Quizzes and tests taken in class include the cultural topics presented in the course. Students articulate similarities and differences in the various cultures of the world and demonstrate familiarity with the skills necessary to make informed judgments.
