- This course provides the paramedic student with knowledge and principles associated with the acute management of medical or traumatic emergencies.

Course Learning Goals
Students will:
- Explain the pathophysiology of disorders commonly seen in the prehospital environment;
- Interpret patient assessment findings to develop a management plan for patients in the prehospital environment;
- Interpret EKG rhythms; and
- Correlate patient presentation with advanced cardiac interventions (pacing, defibrillation, and cardioversion).
