- Travel to a local brewing facility is required. Students are responsible for any transportation needs.
- VI. Catalog Course Description
- This course provides students with the practical application of brewing and fermentation techniques in an industry setting. Students gain enhanced knowledge and competency with the opportunity to focus on the day-to-day processing, operations, and management of a brewery or related allied industry.

Course Learning Goals
Students will:
- demonstrate an advanced understanding of the brewing process;
- perform the duties of a brewer or another position relating to the production of fermented beverages; and
- develop an understanding of the role of the brewer in a production environment.

Planned Sequence of Topics and/or Learning Activities
Topics vary and are dependent upon student placement. Students complete at least 120 hours of work in a brewing production facility or other appropriate setting. -

Exams and quizzes, class participation, online activities and discussion, and other projects as assigned by individual instructors are utilized. -
