4.21 Vacation Leave
I. Purpose
Establish parameters for use of vacation leave.
II. Scope
Applies to Administrative, Classified, Maintenance/Custodial employees, Security officers and Faculty on 12 month contracts.
III. General
Vacation leave for Administrative, Classified and Maintenance/Custodial employees, Security officers and Faculty is defined in current contracts and agreements.
Vacation leave is earned bi-weekly on a pro-rated amount of vacation eligibility. Vacation records are kept on a bi-weekly basis.
Vacation leave, when taken, must be reported using the system designated by the college.
Any college employee who schedules vacation, and during that time the college closes due to an emergency, will not have vacation time charged for any days on which the college closes.
In the event an individual terminates employment with the College either through resignation or involuntary separation, unused accrued vacation shall be payable as soon as administratively possible post-termination. If an individual has used more vacation than has been actually accrued at the time of termination, such time shall be considered as being overpaid and shall be deducted from final pay.
