Learn Street Smarts
and Real-World Skills...
 |
Lots of colleges try to teach journalism from a
textbook. Not us. From the first day of class, you'll be fanning
out across campus and hitting the streets to cover real stories
for the Centurion, Bucks' award-winning student newspaper. In
the process you'll pick up the skills you'll need to make it as
a journalist in the real world. |
... while on the job at our
student newspaper
If you join our program you won't be just another student -
you'll be a staff reporter for the Centurion, covering real
stories on a real deadline for a real byline. Or maybe you'll be
an editor, assigning articles and editing copy. Or maybe a
photographer, or a website designer. Whatever your interests, we
have a job for you. |

MENTORING
Under a special arrangement with the
Bucks County Courier
Times, students get to visit the Courier's
newsroom and spend time watching a professional reporter or editor at
work.
INTERNSHIPS
Students who do well in our program have the opportunity to work as
interns at many local newspapers, including the Bucks County Courier
Times.
TRANSFERRING
Many of our students have
transferred to journalism programs at Temple University and Rider
University, among others.
GETTING A JOB
Students at
Bucks have landed part-time jobs at the Courier Times and other local
newspapers - even before they finish the program! Many of our graduates
have gone on to jobs at publications throughout the area.
