Associate Degree Nursing Program

Special Notice:

The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) will be on the Bucks County Community College (BCCC) Newtown Campus, 275 Swamp Road, on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 and will invite third party comments on the BCCC AD Nursing Program, being reviewed for continuing accreditation. A meeting will be held in Penn Hall, Room 442 at 3 p.m.

Representatives from the NLNAC will entertain public comments on the BCCC Associate Degree Nursing program from interested individuals from the nursing community, students, and graduates, as well as the public at large.

The Nursing Program consists of courses in liberal arts and selected sciences, as well as nursing courses. Each required nursing course must be taken in a designated sequence as knowledge builds from less complex to more complex. Each nursing course is made up of a theoretical and a clinical component. Students must successfully meet the objectives of both of these components and demonstrate increasing proficiency on all drug calculation exams that start at a minimum of 80% in order to achieve a passing grade (of at least a C) in each nursing course.

Nursing students must comply with the rules and policies as presented in the Nursing Student Handbook, in addition to those listed in the catalog. Students, who meet criteria for readmission into the program, must comply with the Nursing Student Handbook that is in place for the class to which they have been readmitted.

The Bucks Associate Degree Nursing Program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is fully accredited by:
