Comedy Improv Cast May 2009A record cast of 38 eager performers is ready to tickle your funny bone with “Improvolution: the Ascent of Now” at 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. The comedy improv showcase is part of the college’s annual Arts at Bucks celebrations.

Director Bill McLaughlin says the two-part show is a “celebration of the evolution of improv at Bucks,” where he has taught improvisational performance for more than four years.

“Two professional groups have formed from our workshops: ‘The Piece,’ Bucks County's premier improv and sketch comedy ensemble, and ‘Angry People Building Things,’ Philadelphia's hottest long-form improv company,” said McLaughlin, who has taught comedy performance for more than three decades. “Cast members from both groups are returning to Bucks for this milestone event.”
