Deadline Nears to Take Entrance Exam for LPN Program; Apply by Nov. 17
The exam will be offered Dec. 5 at Newtown for students applying for July 2010 start of next full-time program
The Practical Nursing program at Bucks County Community College, which prepares students for licensing after one year of intensive study, is accepting applications for the 2010 – 2011 class. But potential students must first take the National League for Nursing’s pre-entrance exam for Licensed Practical Nursing, which will be offered in December at the Newtown Campus.
The NLN for LPN exam will be offered at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 5, in the Testing Center, located in the Rollins Center on the campus at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown. The deadline to register is November 17.
The exam is a general verbal, math and science test that presumes no previous knowledge of nursing. Test seating is limited to 60. A non-refundable testing fee of $55 is due at the time of registration. Students who achieve an acceptable overall passing score will be invited to complete the next phase of the admission process.
The noncredit certificate program begins in July 2010 and ends in June 2011. Students attend classes and clinical training full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
The Practical Nursing Program at Bucks County Community College has graduated nearly 300 students since it began in 2002. The program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. To learn more, e-mail the program or call 215-968-8316.
