Discover Your Inner Poet!
We all recognize specific emotions,
beauties, and curiosities about life, and as English
Romantic poet John Keats noted, "Poetry
should...appear [to the reader] almost a
remembrance." Discovering your inner poet will

also the small things that, stringed together, make
up so much of our lives. Students will read some
poetry in class, but mostly write, through guided
exercises, their own observations of the people,
objects and events that are of interest to them,
learning to craft them into good poetry for their
own private satisfaction or to share with readers,
completing at least one "ready for submission"
poem by the end of the class term.
