Lara Adams Gaydos was born and raised in central and northern New Jersey. After graduating from Rutgers University in 1994, she moved out west where she lived and traveled for many years, mostly in Colorado. While living in Colorado Springs, she met a small group of poets who encouraged her to begin writing. She joined Poetry West, the local poetry society, and attended a variety of workshops, retreats and readings. In 2007, she returned to the east coast, settling in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, where she continues to write, teach, and connect with local poets. After placing as a runner-up for three years, she was named the Bucks County Poet Laureate in 2012. Her poetry has been
nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and has appeared in U.S. 1 Worksheets, Slant, the Schuylkill Valley Journal, and the anthology Poems from the Baca Grande. Her chapbook, Things That Were Only Briefly the Truth, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2014.
