Bucks Students Perform "Improvocative" Comedy Show

Saturday, December 07, 2013

Where and When

Time: 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Location: Gateway Auditorium

Event Information

It is the Biannual showcase of students’ improvisational comedic talent.  A dozen Bucks County Community College students will push their comedic limits with “Improvocative,” an improvisational comedy showcase

The cast will perform short- and long-form comedy improv based on audience suggestions, so it’s never the same show twice. The first act features students who are currently studying improvisational performance, while the second act features “Roll Models,” a team of students who have completed the courses and continue to pursue the art of performing improv.

The biannual comedy showcase is directed by Bill McLaughlin, a comedy veteran who has taught improvisational performance at his alma mater for eight years. The Morrisville resident honed his comedy craft in Chicago under the tutelage of the famous Del Close, and then spent the next 25 years performing improv in New York City

There is ample free parking. Admission is $7 at the door, or $5 with current student ID.

Potential students have a chance to get in on the action when McLaughlin teaches two levels of improvisational performance in the spring semester, with classes meeting every Thursday for 15 weeks starting January 23. To learn more, contact the Department of the Arts at 215-968-8425.
