VA Benefits

How to Register with the Office of Veteran Affairs, located within the Office of Admissions, Records, and Registration in the lower level of Pemberton Hall...

Enrollment status definitions...

Undergraduate students must determine the amount of time they are attending school in order to be eligible for certain benefits from the VA. This is based on the number of credits that they are taking in a given semester. The following breakdown should be used to determine your enrollment status at Bucks County Community College:

  • 12 or more credits = Full Time
  • 9 - 11 credits = 3/4 Time
  • 6 - 8 credits = 1/2 Time
  • 4 - 5 credits = Less Than 1/2 Time
  • 1 - 3 credits = 1/4 Time

The following additional forms are needed in order to process your request for Veterans Affairs Benefits...

  • For each semester that you would like to receive your benefits, you must notify the Office of Veteran Affairs by submitting a Veterans Registration Verification Form.
    • These forms are available online (http://www.bucks.edu/admission/vet_cert.pdf) as well as at the front desk of the Admissions Office.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to make sure that the information submitted to the VA is accurate, all certification forms received by the Office of Admissions will be processed after the last day of drop and add for the semester.

  • Due to security risks, the Office of Veteran Affairs will not process requests for advance payment. However, Tuition Deferments are available for all veterans receiving benefits, who have no outstanding financial obligation to the College.
    • If interested in pursing this option, a student must submit a completed Veterans Deferred Payment Form to the Office of Admissions in order to delay the due date of their tuition payments.
    • Deferment forms are available online (http://www.bucks.edu/admission/vet_defer.pdf) as well as at the front counter of the Admissions Office.

PLEASE NOTE: The deferment is effective until the end of the following semester, however, the College expects that regular payments be made when payments are received from the VA.
